Cape Henlopen Light was a victim of a locomoting dune that ultimately consumed the land and led to the final demise of the light during a howling storm on a winter day in 1925. The lighthouse was built in 1767 and guided ships from the Atlantic to the Delaware Bay for over 150 years.
Research for the painting used for this clock included archival photographs and drawings. This clock is rich with history and you’ll enjoy using it to know what time it is. Makes a great gift for a lighthouse lover or history buff!
The lighthouse design in the Spirit of Cape Henlopen Clock is a reproduction of an original watercolor by Lee M. Buchanan. As part of our Heirloom Designer Collection, this Spirit of Henlopen Clock features hand-crafted nautical designs between each of the numbers on the clock face.
The clock has a wooden frame, plexiglass face and a pre-installed backside hook for hanging. It is for indoor use and requires one AA battery, not included. You have finish choices for the frame and the clock hands. This design is exclusive with Coast and Country!
