The Clipper Flying Cloud was launched in 1851 and was considered the fastest of all American Clippers. She held the world’s sailing record for the fastest passage of 89 days and 8 hours between New York and San Francisco and held the record for over 130 years, from 1854 to 1989. Flying Cloud was the most famous of the clipper ships built by Donald McKay. A handsome mug for the sailing enthusiast!
